File Viewer is similar to the hierarchical file and folder viewing tool in Microsoft® Windows® OS called Windows Explorer.
On a development workstation, the File Viewer tool displays a hierarchical view of the file system on a target device.
With the tool, you can manage the file system on the target device. You can also export a file to or import a file from the target device.
You can use File Viewer from the Visual Studio 2005 development environment with the Windows Embedded CE add-on, or you can use File Viewer from the Start Menu.
To use File Viewer from Windows Embedded CE, you must first connect to the target device. For more information about how to connect a remote tool to a target device, see Remote Tool Connectivity.
