Users otherwise need Advanced access (Visual Studio Online Advanced, or certain higher-level MSDN subscriptions) to use these features.

If you're the owner of your Visual Studio Online account, you can start a 90 day trial of these additional features. During the trial, all users in the account can use all Visual Studio Online features. After the trial, you can upgrade to keep access to these features and any data you added.

Start the trial

  1. Make sure you're the account owner. (How do I find out who's the account owner?)

  2. Sign in to Visual Studio Online (youraccount.visualstudio.com).

  3. From your account home page, start the trial.

    Or you can start the trial from the settings tab in the administration section. Start account trial link in the settings tab of the account control panel page 

  4. You can only start a trial once for your Visual Studio Online account. Begin trial button in the start account trial dialog box

Q:During the trial, what are my charges?

A:You incur charges for Build and Load Testing usage, as well as for any user plans you’ve purchased via the Azure Management Portal. All users, except stakeholders, are able to access Advanced features for the duration of the trial.

Q:How many times can I try out the features?

A:You can only start a Visual Studio Online trial once per account.

Q:What happens to my account when the trial is over?

A:Feature access returns to normal, based on the level assigned for each team member. Data changes are preserved.
