Translating Attachments

This content is no longer actively maintained. It is provided as is, for anyone who may still be using these technologies, with no warranties or claims of accuracy with regard to the most recent product version or service release.

Gateways call the HrCnvConvert function to translate messages. However, they can also use this function to translate attachments. Because conversion dynamic-link libraries (DLLs) are not restricted to operating on message objects, you can define separate translation phases for attachments in the same way that you can use multiple translation phases for messages. The translation environment for an attachment should include the gateway name, the message type, and the attachment type.

For more information about translation phases and translation environments, see HrCnvQueryCapability.
