How to: Uninstall a Data-Tier Server

Unlike Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server, in Team System 2008 Team Foundation Server you do not install and uninstall the Team Foundation data tier separately. Uninstalling Team Foundation Server is integrated with the Team Foundation application tier.

Required Permissions

To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the Administrators group on the Team Foundation data-tier server. For more information about permissions, see Team Foundation Server Permissions.

To uninstall a data-tier server

  • For more information about uninstalling Team Foundation Server, see the topic "Uninstalling Team Foundation Server" in the Team Foundation Installation Guide. You can download the latest version of the Team Foundation Installation Guide from the Microsoft Download Center (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=79226).

Note   Uninstalling Team Foundation Server does not remove user data or delete the Team Foundation databases. However, the database files are detached from Microsoft SQL Server 2005.
