WCELOADSP.exe (PPC Only)

The XML-based Smartphone CAB Installer application WCELOADSP.exe with signature verification turned off installs .cpf files on Pocket PC through the following process:

  1. WCELOADSP.exe receives a .cpf file through one of the delivery mechanisms. Microsoft ActiveSync® can send multiple .cpf files in one batch, and each .cpf file is processed in turn.
  2. The process is the same for signed or unsigned files. WCELOADSP.exe does not attempt to verify included certificates. WCELOADSP.exe opens the .cpf file for allowed installations and extracts its contents.
  3. WCELOADSP.exe then passes the _setup.xml file included in the .cpf file to the Configuration Manager for processing.

For more information about how the Configuration Manager handles files, see Configuration Manager and Configuration Service Providers.

Note   The Pocket PC .cpf installer WCELOADSP.exe is the Smartphone CAB Installer WCELOAD.exe renamed WCELOADSP.exe.
