Properties Window (Code Librarian)

The Properties window contains the properties for the category or code item selected in the Code Librarian Explorer.

For information about opening the Code Librarian, see Opening the Code Librarian. The Properties window is open by default when you open the Code Librarian. If the Properties window has been closed, from the View menu, select Properties Window.

Category Properties

  • Name
    Category name. The default is New Category. To enter a new name, select the field in the Property window, and type a new name.
  • ReadOnly
    By default, unless the library database is read-only, this property is set to False. If this attribute is set to True, then users will not be able to add or remove categories or code items or modify existing sub-categories or code items. If the category read-only property is set to True, then the property for the items contained within the category will be set to True automatically.
  • Type
    Category type. On new, the default is General. This is a multi-select property, which you select from available category types. To modify the available types, or add new types, select the Browse (...) button in the Property window.

Code Item Properties

  • Name
    Name of code item. The default is New CodeItem. To change the name, click in the field, and type a new name. This is the name that appears in the Code Librarian Explorer.
  • Author Name
    AuthorFirstName, AuthorLastName, and AuthorMiddleInitial make it possible for you to enter information about the person who created the code item.
  • Date
    This value is set automatically to the date that the code item was last modified.
  • Keywords
    Keywords associated with this Code Item. To modify the keywords, select the Browse (...) button in the Keywords category of the properties window field.
  • ReadOnly
    By default, unless the library database is read-only, this property is set to False. If this attribute is set to True, then the code item cannot be modified in the Code Editor window.
  • Type
    Code item type used to define the icon for the code item in the Code Librarian Explorer. The default is Code Snippet. This is a multi-select property, which you select from available code item types. To modify the available types or add new types, select the Browse (...) button in the Type category of the Properties window field.
