How to: Redirect Output

Remember that the command line retrieves files to the current project by default. In contrast, Visual SourceSafe Explorer retrieves files to the working folder for a project. This topic describes how to change the default output location so that files retrieved by command line commands are directed to the working folder.

To redirect output for command line commands:

  1. In Visual SourceSafe Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Options.

  2. In the SourceSafe Options dialog box, click the Command Line Options tab.

  3. Select Assume working folder based on current project. Now any time you run a command from the command line, Visual SourceSafe bases the working folder on the current project.
