Definition

protected public:
 virtual void OnCellPainting(System::Windows::Forms::DataGridViewCellPaintingEventArgs ^ e);
protected internal virtual void OnCellPainting (System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewCellPaintingEventArgs e);
abstract member OnCellPainting : System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewCellPaintingEventArgs -> unit
override this.OnCellPainting : System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewCellPaintingEventArgs -> unit
Protected Friend Overridable Sub OnCellPainting (e As DataGridViewCellPaintingEventArgs)

Parameters

Exceptions

The value of the ColumnIndex property of e is greater than the number of columns in the control minus one.

-or-

The value of the RowIndex property of e is greater than the number of rows in the control minus one.

Remarks

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Handling and Raising Events.

The OnCellPainting method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors

When overriding OnCellPainting(DataGridViewCellPaintingEventArgs) in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnCellPainting(DataGridViewCellPaintingEventArgs) method so that registered delegates receive the event.
