DataGridView.OnCellBeginEdit(DataGridViewCellCancelEventArgs) Method

Definition

Raises the CellBeginEdit event.

protected:
 virtual void OnCellBeginEdit(System::Windows::Forms::DataGridViewCellCancelEventArgs ^ e);
protected virtual void OnCellBeginEdit (System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewCellCancelEventArgs e);
abstract member OnCellBeginEdit : System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewCellCancelEventArgs -> unit
override this.OnCellBeginEdit : System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewCellCancelEventArgs -> unit
Protected Overridable Sub OnCellBeginEdit (e As DataGridViewCellCancelEventArgs)

Parameters

Exceptions

The value of the ColumnIndex property of e is greater than the number of columns in the control minus one.

-or-

The value of the RowIndex property of e is greater than the number of rows in the control minus one.

Remarks

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Handling and Raising Events.

The OnCellBeginEdit method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors

When overriding OnCellBeginEdit(DataGridViewCellCancelEventArgs) in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnCellBeginEdit(DataGridViewCellCancelEventArgs) method so that registered delegates receive the event.
