Commerce Server 2002 FP1 to Commerce Server 2007 Migration Considerations

For the latest version of Commerce Server 2007 Help, see the Microsoft Web site.

This topic describes issues that you will experience when you migrate from Commerce Server 2002 Feature Pack 1 (FP1) to Commerce Server 2007. You should use this list together with the information in About Migrating ASP.NET-based Commerce Server 2002 Applications to Commerce Server 2007 or About Commerce Server 2002 ASP-based Site Migration to Commerce Server 2007.

Commerce Server 2002 FP1 introduced the Marketing resource. In Commerce Server 2007, the Campaigns resource from Commerce Server 2002 and the Marketing resource from Commerce Server 2002 FP1 have been combined to create the Marketing resource. If you have both a Marketing resource and a Campaigns resource on your computer, the Commerce Server 2007 Upgrade Wizard will add new columns and tables to the existing Marketing resource. It will then add more information from the Commerce Server 2002 Campaigns resource to the updated Marketing resource, such as ads, lists, display properties, reference tables, and expressions from a separate Expression Store.

Commerce Server 2002 FP1 Web services are not supported in Commerce Server 2007. Commerce Server 2002 FP1 Web services must be deleted and replaced by Commerce Server 2007 Web services. The CSharp.pup file, located in the %Commerce_Server_Root%\Pup Packages folder, provides the new Web services.

Commerce Server 2002 FP1 client applications are also not supported in Commerce Server 2007. Instead, use the new client services that are installed with the Commerce Server 2007 Business management applications.
