How to: View History

Visual SourceSafe Explorer uses the Show History command on the Tools menu to display the history of an item as a list of all versions, including the current one. You must have the Read project rights to use this command.

The Show History command lists versions starting with the most recent and going back to the creation of the item. Visual SourceSafe provides information about the version number, which can be used with other commands, for example, Get Latest Version, to indicate a specific version. By default, the history displayed for a project includes the histories of all its files, but does not include subprojects. For more information about file and project histories, see Version Control.
