![]() When you write code to add customized functionality to a document using Automation, you often need to give people who use the document a way to perform the customized actions. Visual Studio 2005 Tools for the 2007 Microsoft Office System (also known as Visual Studio 2005 Tools for Office Second Edition, or VSTO 2005 SE) provides a Ribbon Support item to help you customize the Microsoft Office Fluent user interface. You can create groups of controls on a custom tab on the Office Fluent Ribbon to expose new functionality that you deploy as an application-level add-in, which is a convenient way to automate an application in the 2007 Microsoft Office system. ![]() Help for Visual Studio Tools for Office includes the code and steps that are demonstrated in this video. Specifically, see Walkthrough: Automating an Application from Controls on the Ribbon. |
