VoIP security depends upon the security of the network connection provided by the device. You can make your network more secure by incorporating authentication and encryption in your design.

Extensible Authentication Protocol-Transport Layer Security (EAP-TLS) is a certificate based authentication scheme for wireless LAN. EAP-TLS requires a certificate from the server on the mobile device. EAP-TLS is often associated with corporate networks.

WiFi Protected Access 2 (WPA2) using Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) encryption can provide encryption for the WiFi channel. WPA2 is a subset of the IEEE 802.11i standard. AES has been standardized through National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

Note

By default, Telnet Server is not included in VoIP services. If you enable it, you will receive warnings, because Telnet Server is a sample not intended for commercial distribution and is vulnerable to security attacks.
