Version Information
 Version Added:  InfoPath 2003

Syntax

expression.Input

expression   An expression that returns a WebServiceAdapter object.

Return Value
String

Remarks

The input element of the .xsf file contains information about the parts of the input Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) message that are used to communicate with the Web service. Specific parts in the SOAP message are replaced by Microsoft Office InfoPath 2007 with data from within the form. It is used when a secondary data source is populated with data from a Web service, and InfoPath needs to pass arguments to the Web service to retrieve the data that it provides.

Security Level 2: Can be accessed only by forms running in the same domain as the currently open form, or by forms that have been granted cross-domain permissions.

Example

In the following example, the Input property of the WebServiceAdapter object is used to display the input string of the Web service data adapter in a message box:

JScript
  var objWSAdapter;

objWSAdapter = XDocument.DataObjects("WebCityList").QueryAdapter; XDocument.UI.Alert("Input string: " + objWSAdapter.Input);
