This method initializes the Client object.

Syntax

HRESULT Initialize();

Parameters

None.

Return Value

This method can return an RTC_E_ constant.

The following table shows additional information about a specific return value.

Value Meaning

RTC_E_INVALID_PORT RANGE

This error code is returned if the port range values set under the registry key HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\RTC\PortRange are not valid.

The values in the registry are invalid if only one of the two range values, MinSipDynamicPort and MaxSipDynamicPort, is set in the registry and the other one is missing.

The value of MaxSipDynamicPort in the registry must not be greater than 65,535.

The value of MinSipDynamicPort in the registry must not be less than 1,024.

Remarks

The application must call this method before calling other methods on this interface. Otherwise, the other methods return RTC_E_CLIENT_NOT_INITIALIZED.
