Configuring Combined Caching for the FAT File System

Because the file Allocation table (FAT) file system supports disk caching, you can combine file caching done by the file system cache manager with metadata caching through the disk cache.

To configure combined caching

  1. Add the file cache filter to the FATFS volume for the file cache.

    For more information, see Configuring File Caching for a File System Driver.

  2. Enable metadata caching, and disable data caching to turn off data caching for the disk cache.
