A worldwide road map that is optimized for route planning and time and distance calculations and includes map coverage in the Americas, Africa, Europe, and Asia. Data is available in 13 languages.

Remarks

The MapPoint.WorldRoutable data source enables you to perform routing across multiple nations and continents. By using the MapPoint.WorldRoutable data source, MapPoint Web Service can determine a route for you from Norway to Australia, for example.

The following restrictions apply to the MapPoint.WorldRoutable data source:

  • Road construction information is not available.

  • You cannot create a route that crosses between the Eastern and Western Hemispheres. You can generate a route across the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.

  • Landmarks and parks are not included.

  • Routes do not take in to account current political situations or hazardous terrain.

Important The MapPoint.WorldRoutable data source may provide routes through regions that are dangerous due to war, crime, political instability or other factors.  The provision of a route through the MapPoint.WorldRoutable data source should not be considered to be a representation of its safety or suitability.  Users should exercise caution and verify the safety and appropriateness of all routes with appropriate governmental and other sources prior to travel.
