Maintaining Your Brand

When choosing a color scheme, try to create a design that incorporates your brand identity. Avoid a look that is too similar to that of the main Windows Media Center user interface. If your application looks like the rest of Windows Media Center, users may fail to understand that they are in a separate application and may become confused.

  • Don't copy the Windows Media Center brand.
  • Maintain a consistent look with your web site, your network package, or both.
  • Adapt to the requirements of distance viewing.

The user should be able to visit your web site and Windows Media Center experience and instantly know they are provided by the same company. Not all elements of your user interface will work from a distance, but all the parts should feel related.
