Associate Check-in Notes with Changesets

When you check in your changes, you can associate check-in notes with a changeset.

Required Permissions

To perform this procedure, you must have the Check in permission set to Allow. For more information, see Team Foundation Server Permissions.

To Associate Check-in Notes with a Changeset

  1. In either the Pending Changes window or the Check In dialog box, click the Check-in Notes channel (on the left). For more information, see Using the Check In and Pending Changes Windows.

  2. In the Code Reviewer, Security Reviewer, and Performance Reviewer text boxes, type descriptions that you want to be associated with the changeset you are checking in.

    Note

Depending on how the team project is configured, some or all of these check-in note fields may require you to make entries prior to finalizing the check-in. Additionally, the team project may be configured with additional check-in notes; the notes mentioned above are the default notes applicable to team projects. For more information, see Set and Enforce Quality Gates.

  3. Click Check In, or complete the steps in Check In Pending Changes.
