How to: Open Source Control Explorer

Team Foundation version control uses Source Control Explorer as its primary interface. The following procedures demonstrate how to open Source Control Explorer.

Required Permissions

To perform these procedures, you must be a member of the Team Foundation Valid Users security group. If the necessary security permissions are set explicitly, you must have the View server-level information and the Create a workspace permissions set to Allow. For more information, see Team Foundation Server Permissions.

To open Source Control Explorer from the menu

  • On the View menu, click Other Windows, and then click Source Control Explorer.

To open Source Control Explorer from Team Explorer

  • In the Team Explorer, double-click the Source Control folder node associated with the team project you want to work with. Source Control Explorer opens with the affiliated team project highlighted.
