Installing Reporting Services on 64-bit Computers
[This topic is pre-release documentation and is subject to change in future releases. Blank topics are included as placeholders.]
The 64-bit editions of Microsoft SQL Server include Reporting Services. The following table summarizes special considerations for the different types of 64-bit architectures.
Architecture | Special Considerations |
---|---|
x64 |
SQL Server Reporting Services is fully supported on x64 operating systems. You can install and run all server and client components of Reporting Services on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 1. The operating system, service pack, and the SQL Server edition you are installing must be 64-bit versions. For instructions about how to install Reporting Services on Windows Vista, see How to: Install 64-bit Reporting Services on 64-bit Windows Vista. |
IA64 |
This platform is intended for production servers. There is no support for integrated Report Designer or Model Designer in Business Intelligence Development Studio. The design tools are not available for installation on this architecture. |
Microsoft Windows-32-on-Windows-64 (WOW64) subsystem |
You can run the 32-bit versions of the Reporting Services ASP.NET applications in WOW64. You must specify settings in IIS to enable this configuration. For more information, see How to: Install 32-bit Reporting Services on a 64-bit Computer. |
