Troubleshooting Database Engine Tuning Advisor

Database Engine Tuning Advisor generates a tuning log, by default, for each tuning session. This tuning log contains messages about each event in the workload that Database Engine Tuning Advisor cannot tune. If an event is successfully tuned, Database Engine Tuning Advisor does not record it in the tuning log.

The topics in this section contain information about the tuning log, the messages it contains, and how to delete hypothetical indexes and statistics after a tuning session finishes.
