Distributed System Designers Terminology Overview 

The designers, editors, and windows in Distributed System Designers are associated with certain terminology and concepts. The following topics provide an overview of the terminology associated with each of these designers, editors, and windows:

In addition, you will often use Solution Explorer and the Properties window, which are also part of the Visual Studio Integrated Development Environment (IDE) outside of Distributed System Designers. Solution Explorer makes it possible for you to manage your solution and the projects and other files that the solution contains. The Properties window makes it possible for you to set properties for various and appropriate elements in your solution. You might also have other windows and editors open in the Visual Studio IDE.
