Just In Time (JIT) Script Debugging is broken

Errors in script running under Microsoft Internet Explorer will not cause a JIT Dialog to be displayed due to an elevation policy restriction.

To resolve this issue:

  • Add this registry key, replacing “C:\\WINDOWS” with the name of the Windows folder on the target computer:[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Low Rights\ElevationPolicy\{E62A7A31-6025-408E-87F6-81AEB0DC9347}]"AppName"="vsjitdebugger.exe""AppPath"="C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\""Policy"=dword:00000003

This error occurs when using SourceSafe integration with the Internet plug-in.

To resolve this issue, do one of the following:

  • Restart Visual Studio.

Visual Studio 2005 project templates disappear when upgrading from Windows XP to Windows Vista

If you install Visual Studio 2005 on a non-English version of Windows XP and then upgrade to Windows Vista you may not see any templates when you try to create a new project for Visual Basic, C# or J# using the File | New Project dialog.
