Associated Work Items

When files that are under source control are checked in to Visual Studio 2005, they may be associated with particular work items, such as bugs, tasks, and requirements. Each time a build is run, any changes associated with the work items since the previous build are recorded in the current build—providing a full record of the changes made.

Work items recorded in a build may also have a status associated with them. For example, a bug may show a resolved status if it was resolved since the previous build, or it might show an active status if the work was completed but not resolved.

Work items that are associated with a particular build can be viewed on the build details page. This information is also stored in the project database and can be viewed in work item and build reports.
