Easier Deployment

New features make it easy for you to deploy your Office solution to a local computer or to a network location using Visual Studio 2005 Tools for Office. Use the Publish pane of the Project Designer to configure deployment properties such as location and version numbering. Then you can use the Publish Wizard to deploy your solution to a Web site, a network file share, or your local computer. The Wizard automatically creates an application manifest and a deployment manifest for the solution during the first deployment, or updates existing manifests. An application manifest is an XML file that provides information for your solution to locate and update its assemblies. A deployment manifest is an XML file that describes deployment settings and identifies the current application version to deploy. You can also deploy your Office solution manually or programmatically by copying your document and assembly to the desired location along with application and deployment manifests. An application manifest is created automatically at build time.
