We have a number of great sessions and announcements to watch out for this year at the Professional Developer Conference in October. Liam Cavanagh will be talking about some of the work that we have done to enable data to be synchronized to a cloud database (“Microsoft Sync Framework: Enterprise Data in the Cloud and on Devices”). Lev Novik has a great technical drill down session on Sync Framework (“Microsoft Sync Framework Advances”) where he will take a close look at the next version of Sync Framework. In addition Moe Khosravy has a session (“Windows 7: Programming Sync Providers That Work Great with Windows”) that will be discussing some of the work we have done with Windows 7 to enable synchronization of contacts and PIM data. Of course don’t forget to see Pablo Castro’s session on “Offline-Enabled Data Services and Desktop Applications” and Steve Lasker’s session “SQL Server Compact: Embedding in Desktop and Device Applications”.
Sync Services for ADO.NET on Windows Mobile (Devices) - Now Available for Download
We are now announcing the availability of v1.0 Service Pack 1 of Sync Services for ADO.NET on Devices (Windows Mobile). Synchronization Services for ADO.NET 1.0, which released with Visual Studio 2008, enabled synchronization between a server database and a SQL Compact 3.5 client database running on a desktop. With this download, you can also synchronize between a server database and a SQL Compact database on a Windows Mobile 5 or 6 device.
Microsoft Sync Framework v1 Now Available for Download
Microsoft Sync Framework is a comprehensive synchronization platform that enables collaboration and offline scenarios for applications, services and devices. Developers can build sync ecosystems that integrate any application, any type of data, using any protocol over any network. This release reflects the final API changes that will be used in the Release to Manufacturing (RTM) release and has greatly improved performance and simplification of APIs and core patterns.
