How to: Specify Scalable Members in Application Systems

In System Designer, you can specify whether multiple instances of an application or system within a system definition can be installed when an instance of the system definition is deployed. By default, installing only single instances of members is permitted.

To permit installation of single or multiple instances

  1. On the diagram, select the application or system you want.

  2. On the Diagram menu, choose Properties.

  3. In the Properties window, set the Scalable property to one of the following:

    • True to permit installation of multiple instances.

    • False to permit installation of a single instance only. (Default)

Tip

You can also right-click the application or system and choose Properties. For more information about the Properties window, see Properties Window.
