How to: Share an Item Using a SourceSafe Plug-in

The SourceSafe plug-ins in Visual Studio allow you to share files and projects in a team environment. The functionality is the same as that used for Visual SourceSafe. For more information, see Sharing and Branching.

To share an item using a SourceSafe plug-in:

  1. In Visual Studio, open Solution Explorer and select a project or file to share.

  2. On the File menu, click Source Control, then click Share.

  3. In the Share with <name> dialog box, browse the directory list for the item you want to share, and click that item.

  4. Click Share.
