Foreign System to Gateway Report Transfer

Foreign System to Gateway Report Transfer

This content is no longer actively maintained. It is provided as is, for anyone who may still be using these technologies, with no warranties or claims of accuracy with regard to the most recent product version or service release.

The following steps are performed when the foreign system transfers a delivery or nondelivery report to the gateway:

  1. When the gateway receives a report from the foreign system, it creates a MAPI report which is assigned a PR_SEARCH_KEY.
  2. The gateway looks up the original message by matching the message identifier (ID) of the foreign report with the PR_FOREIGN_ID property values of the archived messages of the gateway. The message ID of the foreign report should be the same as the message ID that the gateway originally generated for the outgoing message.
  3. The gateway assigns the PR_PARENT_KEY, PR_FOREIGN_SUBJECT_ID, and PR_MTS_SUBJECT_ID properties of the gateway report from IDs in the original message. The value of the PR_FOREIGN_SUBJECT_ID property can also be assigned from the foreign report, if the foreign report contains this information.
  4. The PR_FOREIGN_REPORT_ID of the gateway report is assigned from the report ID of the foreign report.
