Unlocking Active Directory

You must unlock Microsoft® Active Directory® before you can extend the schema.

To unlock Active Directory

  1. Click Start, click Run, and then type regedt32.
  2. Open the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NTDS\Parameters key.
  3. Set the Schema Update Allowed value to 1. You do not need to restart your computer for this change to take effect.
