Web Services Interoperability (WS-I) Organization

 

Web Services Interoperability (WS-I) Organization is a cross-industry initiative designed to accelerate the development and deployment of interoperable Web services across platforms, applications, and programming languages.

The WS-I, an organization founded by Microsoft and other industry leaders, is open to all who are committed to promoting interoperability among Web services based on a shared industry-accepted definition and open standards support.

WS-I is chartered to:

  • Provide implementation guidance and education to help customers with the adoption of Web services,
  • Promote consistent and reliable Web services implementations across heterogeneous systems, as well as
  • Articulate and promote a common industry vision for Web services interoperability.

WS-I enables users to realize the promise of Web services providing interoperability between distributed computing systems across the Internet, across platforms, and across programming languages.
