How to Create a Catalog Expression

This topic describes how to create a catalog expression.

To create a catalog expression

  1. Click Start, point to Microsoft Commerce Server 2007 , and then click Marketing Manager.

  2. In Commerce Server Marketing Manager, in the Views pane, click Expressions.

  3. In the Tasks pane, click Create New Catalog Expression.

  4. On the New Catalog Expression screen, do the following:

    Expression Name

    Type a name for the catalog expression.

    Field

    Select the field that you want to use in this condition from the drop-down list. Available types of fields are:

    • Product.<Properties>. A list of product properties you use to specify which products to which you want to apply the discount, such as Price and Product ID.

    • Expression. Lists all current catalog expressions from which you can select.

    • Product Picker Expression. Lets you open the Product Picker dialog box to find and then select the product(s) or category(s) to which you want to target a discount.

      Expressions only appear if you created them before you open the New Target Expression dialog box.

    Condition

    Select an operator type for the expression from the drop-down list.

    Available types of conditions are operators such as Is equal to and Is greater than.

    Value

    Type the property or value to be evaluated by the catalog expression.

  5. Click Add to add an additional And/Or condition to the expression.

  6. Click OK after you add all the conditions you want to the expression.
