Silent Plug and Play

By design, Plug and Play (PnP) functionality initiates the installation of the appropriate device driver as soon as a PnP device is connected to a computer. Balloon pop-ups are displayed to notify the user of the hardware detection and installation. If the driver for that device is already included in the operating system, installation is automatic. If the driver is not included, a wizard appears, prompting the user for the driver.

To enable silent PnP on your run-time image, you must prevent both the Found New Hardware balloon pop-ups and the Found New Hardware Wizard being displayed.
