This function is to be implemented by a service and will be called by Services.exe. Only streaming services need to implement this function.

DWORD xxx_Write(DWORDdwData,LPcVOID pInBuf,DWORD dwInLen);

Parameters

  • dwData
    [in] Specifies the value returned by xxx_Open (Services.exe) for the given service instance.
  • pInBuf
    [out] Pointer to the buffer containing data to write.
  • dwInLen
    [in] Specifies the length of data in the buffer to be written.

Return Values

Returns the number of bytes actually written.

Remarks

This function is called by Services.exe as a result of an application's call to WriteFile.

Services.exe uses the xxx prefix. When implementing the stream interface, replace xxx with a prefix appropriate for your specific implementation. For more information, see Stream Interface Driver Implementation.
