Configuration Manager2 manages the following configuration service providers directly:

Access Configures network connections on the device and configures the URL mapping table that determines the network where the URL resides.

CMPlanner Configures the preferred connections for each network for Connection Manager, and can set the settings for those connections.

DevDetail Handles the OMA Device Management DevDetail management object that contains device-specific parameters.

DevInfo Handles the OMA Device Management (DM) DevInfo managed object (MO). This managed object contains device information and is sent to the OMA DM server at the beginning of each OMA DM session.

DMAcc Handles the OMA DM DMAcc management object that stores the OMA DM server-specific settings. These settings are collectively referred to as an OMA DM account.

FwUpdate Used for firmware update. This configuration service provider manages the URL of update packages and notifies the user of the update by using the Download Agent.

NAP Configures the data and cellular connections on the device. The NAP (Network Access Point) Configuration Service Provider is used to provision the following types of connections:
  • CSD connections on GSM and CDMA networks
  • GPRS connections
  • RAS connections
  • 1xRTT connections
  • Wired Ethernet connections
  • Desktop Passthrough (DTPT) connections

Proxy Configures proxy connections on the device.

ROMPackage Used by the server to query the device ROM packages' current version that is used by firmware update.

VPN Configures the Virtual Private Network (VPN) entries on the device. Users can use VPN to connect to a corporate network using the Internet.

The Legacy Configuration Service Provider (CSP) wrapper allows the following OMA Client Provisioning style of configuration service providers to be managed over OMA DM protocol:

Bluetooth Configures the Bluetooth operation mode.

CertificateStore Allows you to add security certificates and role masks to the device's certificate store.

Clock Configures the local time zones, and personal alarm settings. It sets the time zone, the alarm time and whether the alarm is on or off

DeviceInformation Enables the server to query general device information, such as the OS version and usage of memory.

EMAIL2 Configures Internet Protocol e-mail services (accounts).

Home Configures the Home screen on the device.

LoaderRevocation Allows you to add, remove, and query certificate or binary hashes in the revocation list.

Locale Configures regional settings on the device.

Note   Over the OMA DM protocol, you can only query applications that are installed on the device; you cannot uninstall an application.
