Language Pack and MUI Architecture

(Pocket PC and Smartphone)

Provides an architecture that uses Image Update technology to insert core code into a universal base and insert language-specific components into Language Packs. Provides an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) with the capability to implement code changes and test the changes once rather than testing in every language that the OEM intends to ship.
Japanese Input Method Editor

(Pocket PC Only)

Provides an end user with the capability to add new words to the dictionary.

An input method editor provides a variety of input methods that take input from the hardware and write to the screen, for example predictive text, handwriting, and keyboard.

Chinese Input Method Editor

(Pocket PC Only)

Provides compatibility with hardware keyboard input. With the Chinese input method editor, an end user can type a complete pinyin sentence without selecting each word, and can register words.
