This code sample is named Pregdmp. It demonstrates how to retrieve a Mobile device's list of registry settings.

Usage

To run the code sample

  1. Navigate to the solution file (*.sln), and double-click it. By default, the solution files are copied to the following folders:

    C:\Program Files\Windows CE Tools\wce500\Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC SDK\Samples\CPP\Win32\Rapi\Pregdmp\``pregdmp.sln

    C:\Program Files\Windows CE Tools\wce500\Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone SDK\Samples\CPP\Win32\Rapi\Pregdmp\``pregdmp.sln

    Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 launches and loads the solution.

  2. Open the Tools menu in Visual Studio, and navigate to Options, expand Projects and Solutions, and click VC++ Directories.

  3. In Show directories for:, select Include files.

  4. Add the path to the ActiveSync include directory. The default locations are:

    C:\Program Files\Windows CE Tools\wce500\Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC SDK\Activesync\Inc for Pocket PC, and

    C:\Program Files\Windows CE Tools\wce500\Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone SDK\Activesync\Inc for Smartphone.

  5. In Show directories for:, select Library files.

  6. Add the path to the ActiveSync library directory. The default locations are:

    C:\Program Files\Windows CE Tools\wce500\Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC SDK\Activesync\Lib for Pocket PC, and

    C:\Program Files\Windows CE Tools\wce500\Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone SDK\Activesync\Lib for Smartphone.

  7. Build the solution (Ctrl+Shift+B).

  8. Deploy the solution (F5).

To use the application

  • To generate the list of registry settings, type the following command at the command-line prompt:

    Pregdmp
    

Remarks

This application runs on a host desktop computer.

Requirements

Pocket PC SDK: Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC SDK.
Smartphone SDK: Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone SDK.
Development Environment: Visual Studio 2005.
ActiveSync: Version 4.0.
