This content is no longer actively maintained. It is provided as is, for anyone who may still be using these technologies, with no warranties or claims of accuracy with regard to the most recent product version or service release.

Defines how the contact is displayed in the folder view.

Applies To

IPerson Interface

Type Library

Microsoft CDO for Exchange 2000 Library

DLL Implemented In

CDOEX.DLL

Syntax

[Visual Basic]Property FileAs As String

[C++]HRESULT get_FileAs(BSTRpVal);
HRESULT put_FileAs(BSTR Val);

Parameters

  • pVal
    Returns the value of the FileAs property as a reference to a BSTR.
  • Val
    Sets the value of the FileAs property to the value of the BSTR.

Remarks

This property is also available as the fileas Field in the schema.

If this entry is null, the FileAsMapping Property defines how the contact is displayed in the folder view. If this entry is not null, it contains the information that is displayed for the contact.

If you set a custom value to indicate how the contact will be displayed, this will set urn:schema:contact:fileasid to cdoMapToNone because the urn:schema:contacts:fileas value is not null.
