Building the Sample Gateway Components and Sample Applications

This content is no longer actively maintained. It is provided as is, for anyone who may still be using these technologies, with no warranties or claims of accuracy with regard to the most recent product version or service release. All Sample Gateway components and sample applications are downloaded to a subdirectory of the directory that contains various types of Exchange store samples. The path of this subdirectory is Program Files\Exchange SDK\SDK\Samples\DBMsg\Exchange\E2K SGW. In addition, the libraries that are required by the Sample Gateway are downloaded to Program Files\Exchange SDK\SDK\Samples\DBMsg\Exchange\LibSrc.

After your build environment is configured, build the following workspaces and projects in this order:

  1. \LibSrc\LibSrc.dsw: Used to build all of the smaller .lib files and link them to Ex2KSdk(D).lib.

  2. E2K SGW\E2K SGW.dsw: Used to build all the required files for the Sample Gateway.

  3. E2K SGW\Sample Apps\Sample Apps.dsw: Used to build all the sample applications except ADDRTEMP and MEPERSON.

  4. ADDRTEMP and MEPERSON are Microsoft® Visual Basic® applications that you must compile separately using Visual Basic.

MEPERSON: Build the Person project in \Sample Apps\MEPERSON.

ADDRTEMP: Build the AddrTempl project in \Sample Apps\ADDRTEMP.

  5. Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-ins, in each of the E2K SGW\SnapIns\ subfolders: These snap-ins are also Visual Basic applications, and you must compile them as separate projects using Visual Basic.
