Referencing the Update Services Assembly

To use the WSUS API, you need to reference the Update Services assembly. The assembly is found in the global assembly cache (GAC) at %windir%\Assembly\GAC\Microsoft.UpdateServices.Administration\{version}\Microsoft.UpdateServices.Administration.dll.

If you are unable to reference the assembly in Microsoft Visual Studio, you will need to copy the assembly from the GAC to another location.
