noRecede

The noRecede attribute specifies whether a client can skip to the previous element in the playlist.

  • Note   Except for Windows Server 2003, Web Edition, this attribute is available only on the x64-based versions of Windows Server 2003 and on the 32-bit versions of Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 1. It is also available on Windows Server 2008.
    It is only available for streaming to Windows Media Player 9 Series and later.

Syntax

  noRecede= "false" | "true"

Remarks

The WMS SMIL Playlist Parser plug-in enforces case sensitivity on the noRecede attribute.

By default, the value of this attribute is false. End users can still pause, stop a media element, or skip to the next element in the playlist when noRecede is set to true.

If noRecede and noSkip are both set to true, then the client will not be able to skip to the previous or next element in the playlist.
