Plug-in
A plug-in is executable software (DLL or EXE) that is designed to provide functionality for a Windows Media server. The following plug-in classes are recognized by Windows Media Services:
- Cache proxy
- Client authentication
- Client authorization
- Control protocol
- Data sink
- Data source
- Event notification
- Media parser
- Playlist parser
You can use the plug-ins provided with Windows Media Services or create your own. Plug-ins must be registered in the Windows registry, and they must be enabled before they can be run.
- Note Windows Media Services does not include a cache proxy plug-in.
