Server Data Objects

Purpose

The Server Data Objects (SDO) API makes it possible to programmatically configure and administer a system running the Internet Authentication Service (IAS). Using SDO, a developer can also write applications that administer remote access policies and profiles. The remote access policies and profiles are used by the Routing and Remote Access Service (RRAS) as well as IAS to determine whether a remote client is allowed to connect to a network access server (NAS).

Where Applicable

The SDO API is applicable in any environment that uses IAS or Remote Access Policies.

Developer Audience

The SDO API is designed for programmers that are using C/C++ and Visual Basic. Programmers should be familiar with Internet Authentication Service (IAS), Remote Access Service (RAS), and the Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service (RADIUS).

Run-Time Requirements

The SDO API is only supported on computers running Microsoft Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2003, or Windows 2000 Server. For more specific information about which operating systems support a particular function, refer to the Requirements sections in the documentation.
