Remarks

SetAssignmentWorkData is designed to be used from the Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 add-in for Project. The XML string in the changeXML parameter must conform to the structure defined by the SetAssignmentWorkData.xsd schema. For more information, see the SetAssignmentWorkData Schema Reference.

Note

If you use SetAssignmentWorkData to change the duration of a task, submit the update to the project manager. When the project manager approves the update, the change is saved only in the Draft database. The Project Center Web Part in Project Web Access does not show the changed duration until the project is published.

The following code example creates a sample project with the current user as an available resource assigned to a task. It then builds a changeXML string specifying an update to the assignment status and calls the SetAssignmentWorkData method to commit the updates.
