Shared Dimensions

Dimensions allow the measures in the cube to be summarized according to various categories. For example, in the question: "How many priority one bugs were closed by a specific team member in November?" four dimensions are used: Priority, Work Item Type, State, and Time. A core set of dimensions is shared across the various cube perspectives that comprise the Team System warehouse. These dimensions enable metrics from the various Team System components to be analyzed using common classifications.
