How to: Connect Using IR
The following steps describe how to connect a device to your development computer using Infrared Port (IR). To complete the process, you must have ActiveSync 4.0 or later installed.
To set up the development computer
On the development computer, open Microsoft ActiveSync.
On the ActiveSync File menu, click Connection Settings.
Select Allow connections to one of the following.
Select Infrared Port (IR), and then click OK.
To set up the device
Ensure that the device IR port is pointing to the development computer IR port, and is within good range.
On the device, open ActiveSync.
On the ActiveSync Tools menu, tap Connect via IR.
The connection is established.
