Embedded Crystal Reports Designer

The embedded Crystal Reports Designer creates or modifies reports. It consists of a graphical user interface for WYSIWYG report design, and a series of experts to simplify data connectivity, sorting, grouping, and other complex report design issues. Crystal Reports Developer includes an enhanced version of the embedded designer that allows you to build powerful reports and reporting applications. The embedded designer that is included with Crystal Reports for Visual Studio contains many of the features of Crystal Reports Developer. Role of the embedded Crystal Reports Designer in the architecture

The embedded Crystal Reports Designer is included in the description of the architecture, because its role is crucial to Crystal Reports for Visual Studio: it creates the report files to display. However, the role played by the embedded Crystal Reports is a design-time role. The role that involves the display and interaction with reports, which occurs at runtime, belongs to the Crystal Reports SDK. Therefore, while the embedded designer creates reports that are used in the architecture, it is not part of the architecture itself.
