Chart Properties Dialog Box, 3D Effect Tab (Report Designer)

Use the 3D Effect tab of the Chart Properties dialog box to define the three-dimensional effects for the chart. For more information, see the Applying 3D Effects to a Chart topic.

Options

  • Display chart with 3-D visual effect
    Choose this option to display the chart with a three-dimensional effect.
  • Chart area
    Select the chart area to which the three-dimensional effects will apply.
  • Horizontal rotation
    Use this slider to rotate the chart horizontally.
  • Vertical rotation
    Use this slider to rotate the chart vertically.
  • Perspective
    Use this slider to change the perspective of the chart view. Ignored if Oblique is selected.
  • Wall thickness
    Use this slider to change the thickness of the edge of the chart.
  • Lighting effect
    Determines the lighting effects used for the chart area.

    • None   No lighting effect is used.
    • Simple   A lighting effect always applies the same hue to the chart area elements.
    • Realistic   The lighting effect will change the hues of the chart area elements depending on the angle at which the light source strikes the chart area element.
  • Oblique
    Choose this option to apply an oblique projection to the chart.
  • Clustered
    Choose this option to cluster series groups. When multiple series for bar or column charts are clustered, they are displayed along two distinct rows in the chart area. If series are not clustered, their corresponding data points are displayed adjacent to each other in one row. Applicable only to bar and column charts.
  • Point Depth
    Specify the depth of the data points, measured as a percentage of data point width. This value must be between 0 – 1000.
  • Gap depth
    Specify the distance between data series that are displayed along distinct rows, as a result of clustering.
