How to: Specify Post-Instrument Events

Post-instrument events specify actions that occur after a binary is instrumented. Commands that can be issued from the command line prompt can be specified as a post-instrument event. For example, you can specify commands that, as part of the post-instrument event, automate the resigning of an assembly with a strong name key.

To specify post-instrument event

  1. In Performance Explorer, select the Performance Session and then right-click and select Properties.

The Property Pages dialog box is displayed.

  2. In the Property Pages, click the Instrumentation properties.

  3. Under Post-Instrument events, type a command in the Command line box.

    -Or-

Click (…) adjacent to the Command line box, and select the appropriate .exe, .cmd, or .bat file.

  4. Click OK.

To disable the command from executing without removing it, select the Exclude from instrumentation check box.
